SPIRE Credit Union received three MAC awards from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) during their annual conference last week. Credit unions from across the United States submitted entries for 21 award categories. The panel of judges were professionals in the marketing, advertising, media, and social media industries both within and outside of the financial industry. For the first time, SPIRE marketing efforts were placed in the in $1 billion or more credit union asset size category.
SPIRE received a bronze MAC award in the Social Media category for the SPIRE Values Winter campaign. This digital campaign brought focus to several business development, community and marketing initiatives during the winter of 2018 highlighting how SPIRE valued Minnesota’s season of ice and snow. The campaign achieved high numbers in social media reach and engagement while bringing over 25,000 visits to the campaign’s web page myspire.com/winter. SPIRE also saw a record number of checking accounts opened on a Saturday while the campaign was running. SPIRE received a silver award in the Culture and Internal Branding category for the This is SPIRE video. Premiering at the end of the 2018 SPIRE Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation event, the video highlights photos and video clips of SPIRE staff living out our daily commitment to the giving back of our time, talents, and treasure. The video continues to be shown to new SPIRE employees during their onboarding training.
Agold MAC award was received in the Outdoor category for Archie the Zamboni. In January of 2018, the new TRIA Rink opened in St. Paul as the official training facility of the Minnesota Wild and home to Minnesota Whitecaps and Hamline University hockey teams. he three MAC awards come on the heels of SPIRE receiving four Diamond Awards from the Credit Union National Association’s Marketing & Business Development Council in March. Since 2016, SPIRE has received 11 MAC awards for being among the “best of the best” in credit union marketing.
